What to Expect

Start your free introductory call

We'll make sure your website looks and functions at its best on every device, every browser, every time.

Responsive Design

  • 60% or more of your visitors will be on a mobile device.

Others will be on desktops, laptops, and tablets. No matter what they're using, your website will look and function consistently at every size and on every screen.

We'll help you connect with your market on a deeper level than your competitors.

Engaging Copy

  • Speak trust into your market so they see that you're the one they need.

Talk to them in their own language. Show them you understand their pain points and desires. So they want to choose you.

  • Stay "on brand" with copy that matches your voice everywhere else.

You'll reinforce your brand's identity. No inconsistencies or confusion. So you can maintain trust and credibility.

Make your updates whenever you want without headaches.

Easy Updates

Your design isn't just about appearance. It's about functionality. And functionality means being able to make changes and updates without it becoming a nightmare as you grow.
  • No duplicated work.

Make your updates once, and they'll show up as expected everywhere on your site. So you never spend time making one change in several places.

  • No weird breakages.

Everything will show up and function as intended on all devices. So you never need to worry about breaking the layout or functionality of your site.

We'll help you hit your stride with an SEO starter package.

SEO

  • Be understood by search engines.

They'll see the things your visitors don't: indexing instructions, robot directives, schema, semantic HTML, sitemaps, and metadata. Your site will use these to help deliver your site to the users who are looking for you.

  • Get the foundation you need to start outranking your competitors.

We use industry-leading tools to perform in-depth keyword and competitor research. So you can begin ranking your most important services.

We'll give your visitors a fast experience and avoid testing their patience.

High Speed

  • Reach them rapidly no matter where they are.

Deliver your site to users fast no matter their location with my cloud hosting and content-delivery network partners. All at high speeds and 99.9% uptime.

  • Load your content quickly on their devices.

Your code will be clean and optimized. Your images will be delivered at the highest quality with the lowest file sizes. And ultimately, your site's load time will be next to nothing. So your prospects never have to wait.

Easily track your most important performance metrics, and use the insights to optimize your site to generate more leads.

Analytics

Identify the strongest prospects to convert into leads. Spot underperforming pages, keywords, and ad campaigns. Measure your engagement on your most important pages. And finally have the insights to make important decisions to increase revenue.

Give all of your visitors a great user experience.

UX & Accessibility

  • Reach the underserved members of your market.

Blind and visually impaired. Deaf and hard-of-hearing. Cognitive or reading disabilities. The elderly. People unable to use a traditional keyboard and mouse. People with seizure disorders. Nobody needs to be left behind.

  • Potentially reduce the chance of lawsuits.

Lawsuits against website owners have increased year-over-year since 2018 over accessibility complaints. Yours doesn't need to be one of them.

  • Further enhance your SEO and sales.

Your visitor's experience on your site directly affects your search rankings and sales. Don't be one of those sites where they "hit the back button" out of frustration.

Know exactly what's going on with your project. At all times. In one place.

Project Management

  • Enjoy direct lines of communication.

Comment on your projects' updates and announcements. Post questions. Tag us and your other stakeholders in comments. We're responsive within a business day, but often immediately.

  • Stay up-to-date on everything.

Get weekly updates on your project. Every deadline. Every task. Every milestone.

  • Have one place for all your "stuff."

Store your brand assets. Find documents. Refer to past conversations. Review your contracts. View your invoices. Link Dropboxes and Google Drives. Access any and all project materials. All in one place.

They were very quick to communicate and respond to our needs. They were engaging and always open for questions.

Our 8-step process ensures that your website is built to perfection.

One of the most important parts of having your website properly built is a reliable and efficient process with proven success.

The Process

Start your free introductory call
  1. Consultation

We'll discuss your expectations, your business, your goals, how your website should help you reach them, and whether we're a fit to work together on your project. Pricing is transparent and discussed up-front.

  2. Audit & Research

We'll will audit your current site (if it exists) and do research on your market, your competitors, and keywords. Think of this as doing research on your current house and neighborhood vs the house and neighborhood you want to live in.

  3. Sitemapping

We'll use our research to put together a "sitemap," a carefully planned and crafted architecture of your site based on the way your target searches for your services online. Think of this as the "blueprint" for your house.

  4. Wireframing (UX)

We'll put together a rough visual structure for each page of your site. The structure will be based on what we determine to be the best layout for both generating leads and providing a positive user experience. Think of this as the "skeleton" of your house under construction.

  5. Copywriting

We'll insert carefully planned and researched sales copy into the wireframes. Your sales copy will reflect both your brand's voice and what your market responds favorably to. Think of this as planning how you will make your customers feel "at home" when they enter.

  6. UI Design

We'll complete the wireframe design with your branding elements, colors, accents, design patterns, pictures, and shapes. Think of this as painting and decorating the house.

  7. Development

We'll l take the approved UI and move it into the web development phase. We'll code the HTML/CSS/Javascript/PHP and create a customized administrative dashboard where you (or we) can manage the site. Think of this as the internal wiring, plumbing, and fixture installation in your house.

  8. On-Page SEO and Optimization

We'll handle the technical on-page SEO so your site is "search engine ready." We'll also perform quality assurance checks to make sure functionality, speed, and experience are ready for launch.

  9. Launch

Your site is live to the public. Think of this as your grand opening! All that's left is for you (or us) manage it.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can you help with content creation?

Yes, we provide professional content creation services tailored specifically for local service businesses. Our content strategy focuses on creating engaging, SEO-optimized content that resonates with your target audience and helps drive conversions.

    Our content creation process considers:

    • Your customer’s journey and search intent
    • Industry-specific keywords and topics
    • Local SEO requirements
    • Your business’s unique value proposition
    • Competitor analysis and market positioning

While initial content creation is included in our website design and development packages, additional content needs can be accommodated at competitive rates. This may include blog posts, service pages, location pages, case studies, or other content types that support your digital marketing goals.

Want to discuss your content needs? Contact us for a consultation to learn how we can help enhance your online presence with strategic content creation.

  • Will the website adhere to accessibility guidelines?

We make every effort to incorporate WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) best practices into all our website projects as part of our standard development process.

However, website accessibility exists on a spectrum, and legal standards around WCAG and ADA compliance for websites remain somewhat unclear. While we strive to follow accessibility best practices, we cannot guarantee or make specific claims about WCAG or ADA compliance levels.

If your business has specific accessibility requirements or compliance needs, please let us know during our initial consultation. We can discuss options for formal accessibility audits and testing through third-party specialists. The cost of additional accessibility consulting, auditing, or remediation would need to be factored into the project scope.

Our goal is to create websites that are usable by as many people as possible while being transparent about the complex nature of digital accessibility standards. We recommend discussing any specific compliance requirements with your legal counsel to ensure your website meets your business’s obligations.

  • How involved will I be in the website design process?

You can be as involved as you want in the website building process. However, there are some standard things we’ll need from you. For example:

    • You’ll provide any existing brand assets, such as logos, color palettes, marketing materials, sales copy, and you’ll also provide us with any previous website content if available.
    • You’ll answer questions we have about your market, your competitors, and your brand’s “voice.”
    • You’ll provide feedback, approvals, and requests for revisions.
  • Will the website have e-commerce capabilities?

We currently do not handle e-commerce websites. Our focus is on providing website design and development services for service-based businesses.

  • Do you provide ongoing maintenance and support?

Yes, we offer comprehensive ongoing maintenance and support through our Website Management Service. This service includes:

    • Regular website backups
    • Software updates for WordPress, themes, and plugins
    • Enhanced website security measures
    • Management of premium themes and plugins if DesignKing.io holds the licenses
    • Plugin compatibility support
    • Technical issue resolution

Our goal is to keep your website secure, functional, and up-to-date.

For any requests beyond the included services, support is available at our hourly rate.

  • How will content updates be handled post-launch?

We offer flexible options to handle content updates after your website is launched.

    • You can either manage updates yourself, which allows you to easily add, edit, or remove content whenever you need.
    • Alternatively, if you prefer a hands-off approach, you can opt for one of our service packages where our team will handle all content updates for you. This ensures that your website remains current and professionally maintained, allowing you to focus on your core business activities.

Our team is always here to support you, regardless of the option you choose, ensuring your website stays fresh and engaging.

  • How will you ensure the website loads quickly?

To ensure your website loads quickly and efficiently, we use several key strategies that work together seamlessly:

    • Caching Implementation: We leverage caching, which helps your site run faster by storing and delivering previously loaded pages more quickly. This means less waiting for your customers.
    • Code Optimization: We streamline the behind-the-scenes code of your website. By cleaning up the code, we make sure your site is lighter and faster without losing any important features. We ensure that the essential parts of your site load first, so visitors get what they need instantly.
    • Image Optimization: We take great care with your images, making them smaller without sacrificing quality, so they load faster.
    • Content Delivery Network (CDN): We use a CDN to serve your website from locations closest to your visitors, speeding up the delivery and ensuring your website performs well anytime, anywhere.
  • Will I have access to website analytics?

Yes. At DesignKing.io, we understand the importance of having full insight into your website’s performance. We set up Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Microsoft Clarity for our clients to provide data about their website traffic and user interactions. These tools will offer you detailed insights into who is visiting your site, how they interact with it, and what improvements can be made.

Once your website is live, you will have full access to these platforms. This access allows you to monitor visitor behavior, track conversions, and gain valuable insights to optimize your online presence effectively. You’ll be able to see firsthand how your website is performing and where potential opportunities for growth lie.

Our team will also provide guidance on how to navigate and interpret the data, ensuring you’re empowered to make informed decisions for your business. We’re here to support you every step of the way, helping you leverage insights to drive success and achieve your business goals.

  • Can you integrate third-party software or services with the website?

Yes, we can integrate a variety of third-party software and services into your website to enhance its capabilities. For example, we can incorporate tools like Calendly for seamless appointment scheduling or Square for efficient payment processing. These integrations allow your website to provide an enriched user experience and meet specific business objectives, such as improving customer engagement and streamlining operations. If you have specific software in mind, we can assess its compatibility and ensure a seamless integration.

  • Will my site be compatible with all major browsers?

We design your new website to work seamlessly on modern devices like desktops, laptops, and mobile phones. Your site will be tested on popular desktop browsers, including Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Google Chrome. For mobile devices, we test on Apple Safari for iOS and Google Chrome for both iOS and Android.

These days, most browsers automatically update across all devices, so you almost never have to worry about compatibility issues. We generally don’t work with older browsers or operating systems for this reason unless you specifically request it, as there might be extra costs involved. While technology is always changing, we strive to keep things running smoothly.

  • Who will own the website and its content upon completion?

When you work with DesignKing.io on your website, here’s what you can expect about ownership:

    • What’s Yours: After your website is complete and paid for, you’ll own the website and its unique designs. This means you can use and update it as you like. If you ever need the original files for custom artwork we created, just let us know. All the text, images, and information you provide are yours, unless they belong to someone else.
    • What’s Ours: We keep the rights to the designs, code, and tools we already had or developed separately, which we might use in other projects too.
    • Using WordPress: Your project includes our services to build your site on WordPress, but not the WordPress software itself. If we use any licensed content, those rights stay with the original creators.
    • AI-Generated Content: Any AI-generated parts of your project may have special ownership rules and might need extra discussion.

Our aim is to make sure you have full control over your site while keeping everything straightforward and transparent.

  • What are the terms of your contract?

If you’re considering us for your website project, here’s a straightforward overview of our approach:

We’ll design and build a WordPress site tailored to your needs, based on a detailed plan we create together.

The project begins with a 50% deposit, followed by 25% at the 30-day mark, and the final 25% upon launch.

We hold the licenses for the tools used in developing your site, but the finished website will be yours including the intellectual property rights upon full invoice payment.

For ongoing support, we also offer optional website management services for a monthly fee.

Our contract includes basic warranties and limitations on liability to ensure a smooth process. We’re here to make our website development services as straightforward and stress-free as possible.

  • How will we communicate throughout the project?

To stay up-to-date on your website project, you can communicate with us through our project management application, Asana. There, we’ll provide updates to you on the status of your website. You can also use it to ask questions, reply to messages, view your website assets, and more.

  • What do you need from us to start the project?

    You’ll be asked for:

    • Any existing brand assets that you can provide: logos, color palettes, marketing materials, sales copy, previous website content if any, etc.
    • Information about your market, your competitors, your brand’s “voice,” etc.
    • Information about any legal requirements you’re required to comply with
    • Access credentials to your domain registrar and hosting accounts (if existing)
    • Login details or management permissions for any third-party services that need to be integrated (social media, payment processors, booking systems, etc.)
    • Contact information for key project stakeholders and decision-makers
    • Any critical deadlines you have
    • Examples of websites you like (and don’t like) for design and content inspiration
    • A clear outline of your business goals and what success looks like for this website
    • Any specific functionality requirements or features needed
    • Any existing content you may have for each page (text, images, videos) that doesn’t already fall into the initial project content plan
    • Information about your target audience and ideal customer
  • Can I see examples of your previous work?

Absolutely. You can visit our portfolio here.

  • What kind of security measures will be in place?

At DesignKing.io, we prioritize your website’s security by hosting it on Closte.com, which utilizes Google Cloud CDN for enhanced speed and reliability, along with robust security features not typically found in shared or dedicated hosting setups. Closte offers:

    • A specialized firewall for WordPress
    • Real-time malware detection
    • Measures to block unwanted traffic, ensuring only legitimate visitors access your site
    • Fully isolated site environments, similar to dedicated hosting security benefits

We understand that different businesses have unique needs, and you may wish to host your website with a different provider. We offer the flexibility to accommodate this choice, provided the hosting provider meets our security and performance recommendations. It’s important to choose hosts that offer:

    • Reliable security measures like firewalls
    • Regular backups
    • Malware protections

These features are essential for maintaining a secure website.

Whether you choose Closte or another hosting provider, we recommend using simple WordPress security plugins for additional safety, such as those checking password strength. Since Closte uses Google Cloud CDN, additional third-party CDN services are generally unnecessary, but they can be considered if hosting elsewhere, depending on your needs. This flexibility ensures you can maintain a secure and reliable website with hosting options that best suit your preferences.
